I like secret Santa as a concept. It’s always fun trying to find something for a work colleague for a limited budget, especially if you’re not sure about their interests. And despite complaints about the budget of £5 from various people (the boys) and statements that “you can’t find a decent present for a fiver”; we have as a department got a very nice haul.

I got a ballistic in the shape of a Santa and bar of soap shaped like a star from Lush; . Lush have obviously spotted a marketing opportunity as they boxed it up as a “Secret Santa”, but I can’t fault them for that. They're very cute and smell gorgeous.

We also all got a desk calendar from our manager and director. This seems to be as a result of me suggesting that BHSF calendars would be a good marketing tool, which is amusing. They have obviously been very carefully chosen for each of us. One of my colleagues got one full of trivia questions for example.

I got a World of Warcraft one. Anyone would think I talk about my hobbies.

Not especially, but it's getting better as it nears the end.

I didn't make any. Next year's are Get Fit and Be A Better Person.

I honestly don't think I have one.

That thing with the stuff where it all went wrong.

I shall be in Oxford (and its area) from Wednesday for 6 days. I'm a bit busy on the 25th, and will be going to see some top rugby action on the 27th. If anyone wishes to meet up on other days I'd be very pleased to have things to be at and folk to be meeting with (and possibly drinks to be drinking).

I dropped my phone in traffic! The screen is shattered. I can make and receive calls, but have no idea who is calling me. Luckily I have managed to connect it to the PC, run a backup and copy the memory card off, and I'll be getting a spare from teambanana's Phone Emporium tomorrow, but until then, if you want me, text Rikk.

I've lost access to my calendar and all organisational thingies :(

This morning was my final chance to walk to work with the wonderful Sir Terry Wogan.

Now i'm going to need a different radio companion for the mornings though, on the plus side, I might be able to listen to Radio 2 on the way home now...

It's snowing

I left the house and there was brilliant sunshine (combined with, you know, coldness) so I popped on my sunglasses and strode along, attempting to avoid the odd slip from frost.

By the time I got to work I was back in glasses and had my beanie hat on; to protect me from the snow (horrid, nasty, vile snow. Or maybe it was hail. I'm not sure).

Currently we have sunshine - and I do like a winter day where its cold but bright, with sunshine to give everything that nice glow...
